About Bombardier Aircraft Company
Bombardier, headquartered in Montreal, is the Canadian maker of two of the most respected business-jet families in aviation: the super-midsize-to-large Challenger and the ultra-long-range Global. The Challenger 350 leads the super-midsize segment for cabin and value; the Challenger 650 is the large-cabin workhorse with one of the best dispatch records in business aviation; the Global 7500 and 8000 are the longest-range purpose-built business jets in the world. (Bombardier's Learjet line is treated as a separate brand on this site, per original-brand policy.) There are currently 270 used Bombardiers for sale, from $1,300,000 for an older Challenger to over $20,750,000 for a late Global.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bombardier
Bombardier Global vs Gulfstream — which private jet is better?
At the ultra-long-range level, both are exceptional but serve different priorities. The Bombardier Global 7500 has 14% lower variable costs ($3,178/hr vs $3,638/hr for the G700) and the widest cabin in its class. The Gulfstream G700/G800 offers the longest certified range (8,200 nm for the G800) and the Symmetry Flight Deck. The Global 8000 (entering service 2025) targets Mach 0.94 — potentially the fastest civil business jet. Choose Bombardier for efficiency and cabin width; choose Gulfstream for range and speed records.
What happened to the Learjet?
Bombardier ceased Learjet production in late 2021, with the final Learjet 75 Liberty delivered in March 2022. After 60 years and 3,000+ aircraft delivered, Bombardier ended the line to focus on the more profitable Challenger and Global families. Over 2,000 Learjets remain in active service. The Wichita factory became a Learjet Centre of Excellence for aftermarket support, and Bombardier launched the RACER re-manufacturing program for Learjet 40/45 models. Used Learjets remain popular for their speed and relatively lower acquisition costs.
How much does a Bombardier Challenger 350 cost to operate?
The Challenger 350 operates at approximately $3,000-$3,500 per hour variable cost. Annual fixed costs (hangar, insurance, crew, management) add $500,000-$700,000. New Challenger 350s list around $27 million; used examples trade from $12-20 million depending on year and condition. The Challenger 350 is the best-selling super-midsize jet, competing directly with the Gulfstream G280 and Cessna Citation Longitude. On AeroGurus, we list Bombardier jets from Challenger to Global Express models.
Is it worth buying a used Bombardier Global Express?
Used Global Express and Global 5000 jets offer exceptional value — early 2000s models can be found for $5-10 million, a fraction of the $60M+ price for a new Global 7500. However, maintenance costs on older Globals are substantial: engine overhauls, avionics upgrades, and mandatory inspections can cost $1-2 million in the first year alone. The key is a thorough pre-purchase inspection and honest assessment of upcoming maintenance events. On AeroGurus, Bombardier listings range from Global 5000s to Global 6000s and Challenger 850s.
