About the Beechcraft Bonanza 33
The Beechcraft Bonanza 33 is the straight-tail, conventional-empennage member of the Bonanza family — the E33, F33 and the sought-after F33A — giving Bonanza speed, build quality and handling with a standard tail rather than the V-tail's ruddervators. Powered by Continental IO-470, IO-520 or IO-550 engines and seating four to five, it is one of the best values in high-performance straight-tail singles. The earliest straight-tail 33s were sold under the Debonair name before being unified into the Bonanza line in 1968 — for those early models see the Beechcraft Debonair.

Buying a Used Beechcraft Bonanza 33
When buying a Beechcraft Bonanza 33, the biggest value drivers are engine time since overhaul, maintenance-record completeness, damage history and avionics.
What to check before buying
- Engine time to overhaul — hours and years remaining drive price more than total airframe time.
- Logbook completeness — continuous, gap-free maintenance records protect value.
- Damage history — any prior accident or incident; cross-check the registration against accident databases.
- Avionics — a modern glass panel vs legacy steam gauges materially changes price.
- Pre-buy inspection — always commission an independent inspection by a type-experienced mechanic before money changes hands.
