Frequently Asked Questions — Mainair
What is a Mainair Blade microlight?
The Mainair Blade is a British flexwing (weight-shift) trike microlight — a high-end touring trike that flew well and looked good. Production by Mainair Sports later merged with Pegasus Aviation into P&M Aviation. Production ended but full spares and support remain available. The Blade represented Mainair's first all-new design since the Flash in 1984 and could safely utilize its 64 HP engine at speeds higher than earlier trikes.
Are Mainair microlights still supported?
Mainair merged into P&M Aviation, which continues to provide spares and support for Blade and other legacy Mainair models. The UK microlight community maintains active knowledge sharing. Used Blades are available on the UK market at affordable prices. For pilots interested in weight-shift flying, the Blade offers a proven platform with available parts, though new production has ended.
