Socata TBM 940 Aircraft 2010s

Originally built by SOCATA, now part of Daher (TBM series).

2010s single-engine turboprops are the current production line — PC-12 NG (2008-2019), TBM 900/910/930/940 (with HomeSafe Autoland on 940), Piper M500/M600 with Garmin G3000. Modern avionics with synthetic vision, single-lever power control (PC-12 NG), Autoland (TBM 940, M600 SLS). The safest, most capable single-engine turboprops ever built.

The Daher TBM 940 (2019-2022) is the modern Daher TBM flagship that introduced HomeSafe Autoland — the world's first single-engine production aircraft with autonomous landing capability. If the pilot becomes incapacitated, a passenger can activate Autoland via the large red button on the overhead panel; the system autonomously navigates to the nearest suitable airport, manages ATC communications, performs the approach and landing, and shuts down on the runway. Combined with Garmin G3000 NXi avionics, E-copilot (electronic stability and protection), and the proven PT6A-66D turbine, the 940 represents the safest single-engine turboprop ever certified. Production ran 2019-2022 before being superseded by the TBM 960.

  • E-copilot stability protection — verify operational status.
  • PT6A-66D engine program — Pratt & Whitney ESP enrollment standard; given young airframe ages, most 940s are still on factory engine programs.
