About the Learjet 75

The Learjet 75 (and shorter Learjet 70) is the final, most modern Learjet — an updated 40/45-lineage light jet with the Garmin-based Vision flight deck, a flat-floor cabin and ~464 kt cruise. The 75 Liberty (2019+) was the value-spec final variant with reduced seating but lower price. Production ended in 2022 with the Learjet line's discontinuation, making the 70/75 the youngest and most capable Learjets on the used market.

Buying a Used Learjet 75

Buying a Learjet 75 is about the engines, maintenance programs and avionics as much as the airframe. Engine and airframe hourly-maintenance programs transfer with the aircraft and materially change both price and risk.

What to check before buying

  • Engine status & program — time to overhaul/MPI and whether the engines are enrolled on an hourly maintenance program (the biggest value driver on any jet).
  • Airframe program & inspections — scheduled (Doc) inspections, airframe/parts programs and total cycles.
  • Avionics & mandates — a modern glass flight deck plus required mandates (ADS-B, FANS) raise value and capability.
  • Damage history & logbooks — complete, gap-free records and a clean accident history protect resale.
  • Pre-buy inspection — a full pre-buy at a type-authorised service centre before money changes hands.

Frequently Asked Questions — Learjet 75

Is the Learjet 75 worth buying over a Phenom 300?
The Learjet 75 offers faster cruise (465 knots vs. 453) and Learjet brand prestige, but Bombardier ended production in 2021 — parts and support are winding down. The Phenom 300E is in active production with full Embraer support. Used Learjet 75s at $6-9M compete on price, but the Phenom 300 is the safer long-term bet for resale and support.
What happens to Learjet 75 support now that production has ended?
Bombardier committed to supporting the Learjet fleet for at least 20 years post-production. Parts, service centers, and technical publications remain available. However, diminishing fleet size will gradually reduce mechanic familiarity and aftermarket competition. Budget conservatively for maintenance and verify parts availability for your specific serial number.
