About the Honda HondaJet
The HondaJet HA-420 (2015+) is the very-light-jet defined by its over-the-wing engine mount — a design that Honda spent decades developing through computational fluid dynamics analysis and aerodynamic testing before production launch. Twin GE Honda Aero HF120 turbofans mounted on pylons above the wings, ~422 kt cruise, ~1,400-1,547 nm range depending on variant. The over-the-wing position keeps engine noise away from the cabin (resulting in the quietest cabin in the very-light-jet class), eliminates the need for engine pylons inside the fuselage (creating more cabin space), and improves aerodynamic efficiency at cruise. Single-pilot type-certified; Garmin G3000 (or refined variants on later models) avionics. Production at Honda Aircraft's Greensboro, North Carolina facility.

Buying a Used Honda HondaJet
Buying a Honda HondaJet is about the engines, maintenance programs and avionics as much as the airframe. Engine and airframe hourly-maintenance programs transfer with the aircraft and materially change both price and risk.
What to check before buying
- Engine status & program — time to overhaul/MPI and whether the engines are enrolled on an hourly maintenance program (the biggest value driver on any jet).
- Airframe program & inspections — scheduled (Doc) inspections, airframe/parts programs and total cycles.
- Avionics & mandates — a modern glass flight deck plus required mandates (ADS-B, FANS) raise value and capability.
- Damage history & logbooks — complete, gap-free records and a clean accident history protect resale.
- Pre-buy inspection — a full pre-buy at a type-authorised service centre before money changes hands.
