About the Beechcraft King Air 100
The Beechcraft King Air 100 — the B100, listed as the Beech 100 King Air or Beechcraft B100 — is a stretched development of the 90-series with a larger cabin seating up to eight to nine. Built from 1969, the 100-series includes the original 100, A100 and B100, the last of which uniquely used Garrett TPE331 turboprops rather than the King Air's usual Pratt & Whitney PT6A. The Beechcraft King Air 100 offers more cabin room than a 90 at a lower entry price than the larger 200-series.

Buying a Used Beechcraft King Air 100
Buying a Beechcraft King Air 100 centres on its turbine engine(s) — time to overhaul, hot-section history and any engine maintenance program — alongside airframe hours and cycles.
What to check before buying
- Turbine engine status — hot-section and overhaul time, trend monitoring and whether the engine is on a maintenance program.
- Airframe hours & cycles — high-utilisation turboprops accumulate cycles quickly; cycles can matter more than hours.
- Equipment — cargo pod, floats/amphibian gear, de-ice and avionics all affect value.
- Corrosion & logbooks — continuous records and a corrosion inspection, especially on float or marine-operated aircraft.
- Pre-buy inspection — commission an independent pre-buy by a type-experienced shop.
