About the Robinson R44 CLIPPER I

The Robinson R44 Clipper I is the float-equipped version of the Raven I, fitted with either fixed utility floats or pop-out emergency floats for operation over water. It shares the Raven I's carbureted Lycoming O-540 (225 hp), hydraulic controls and four-seat cabin. The Clipper is favoured for marine, island, survey and waterfront work where amphibious capability matters, and commands a premium over a comparable land Raven I. Used examples generally sell between $150,000 and $500,000 depending on float type, year and hours. Buy it if you need over-water operation on a budget; choose the Clipper II if you want the stronger fuel-injected engine for the same mission.

Produced 2000.
