About the Bell 407
The Bell 407 is the four-blade, higher-performance evolution of the JetRanger lineage — a single-turbine seven-seat helicopter powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C47B/C47E engine, with more power, faster cruise and a noticeably smoother ride than the 206 it succeeded as Bell's flagship single. Introduced in 1996 and still in production today as the 407GXi (Garmin G1000H cockpit), the 407 is a fixture of EMS, utility, law enforcement, corporate and private flying worldwide. Cruise around 130 knots; the four-blade rotor gives a quieter, more refined ride than the 206's two-blade system.
Produced 1996. Total produced: 1,600.
