This 1972 Bellanca Super Viking has been a reliable, fast cross-country airplane and a great traveling machine. The 300 hp IO-520 provides strong performance, cruising up to 156 knots while still keeping fuel burn in a reasonable range. With about 1100 lb useful load and 87 gallons of fuel, it offers real flexibility for trips with passengers and baggage. The airplane has complete logs, no damage, and has always been hangared. It has been actively flown and maintained, not sitting idle. Recent landing gear power pack along with new springs and seals in the gear and struts add confidence to the retractable system. It is a solid IFR platform that balances speed, payload, and efficiency in a way few aircraft in this class and price range do. Selling only due to moving into a higher capacity aircraft (I will miss the speed). This Bellanca is clean, honest, and ready to keep traveling.
Engine
Continental IO-520K rated at 300 horsepower with approximately 1170 hours since major overhaul and 1900 hour TBO. Smooth, strong running engine. Engine heater installed for cold weather operations. Typical cruise fuel burn 13 to 15 gallons per hour depending on power setting. 87 gallon fuel capacity provides excellent range. LED taxi and landing lights installed. Concord battery with minder connection. Aircraft is configured for oxygen operations to optimize higher altitude cruise performance. Hartzell HC-C3YF-1RF Prop
Interior
Original Bellanca exterior paint scheme that has held up well over time. Overall presents nicely with some minor cracking in the paint consistent with age. Exterior condition rated 7/10. Always hangared. Interior has been redone since original and remains clean and functional. Seats, side panels, and cabin surfaces show well with normal wear for age. Interior condition also rated 7/10. Presents as a maintained and actively flown cross country platform rather than a project.
