Avionics & Equipment

BTH
Stratus ADSB-out. The rest of the avionics are older but functional including an old engine monitor and out of date GPS.

Description

1965 U206A Super Skywagon with large (13' wide, extra height) seaplane tail (plenty of elevator/rudder authority), and cargo pod. TTAF ~4325. ~900 SMOH on 285 HP IO-520A (1992 Factory reman, compressions 64-72 at Oct 25 annual, consistent compression for ~15 years), good oil analysis. ~1800 SPOH. I've owned since fall 2019 and put ~250 hours on it, hangar kept (KBLI) during my ownership and by previous owner (KFHR) for 30+ years. Flys great, burns ~14gph and is reasonably fast (~130 knots). Logs since new. Clean, straight, light airframe with ~1600 lbs useful load. Seats six, or remove the rear seats and haul huge amounts of stuff (I've put a motorcycle in it for ground transportation). Heavy duty nosewheel and larger main tires. Long range tanks. Stratus ADSB-out. The rest of the avionics are older but functional, including an old engine monitor, and out of date GPS. Painted 1996, still looks good; horizontal and elevators painted 2024. New battery 2024. New mufflers 2024. Airbox replaced in 2024, no longer subject to AD 85-10-02. New wingtips 2023-2024. Outboard portion of right wing was repaired due to hangar rash in 2023; underwing outboard skin and aileron not painted but are corrosion protected. The horizontal stab and left elevator were damaged while stationary on the ground in 2024; when we replaced those with new ones from Airframe Components, we also replaced the right elevator because it had a few pinhole corrosion spots due to the old style elevator construction which sandwiched foam in between the skins. The new elevator design doesn't use foam, eliminating that issue. That was the only meaningful corrosion we had ever found on the airframe, gone now. Horizontal and elevators were built with abrasion cuffs to protect from rocks. The tail is now better than it was new, incorporating all SBs to that date, and better corrosion protection. If someone wanted to keep it at KBLI, I might consider selling or renting my T-hangar. Maintained by a 206 expert. Does not have factory float kit; just the seaplane tail (installed 1979 in Washington).
