Seller reportedDescription
This "Flying Grace" came with a heart melting history. It was very well built by an eye surgeon with an intention for rural charity work and first registered in 2007 prior to certifcation. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly and did not test fly the plane. Eventually, his family asked his builder assist, Michael Fletcher a great and well known RVs builder in Sunbury WA, to disassemble, repainted and flight tested it to complete the certification in 2015. The family then sold it and donated the money to their created charity sponsoring medical and nursing students in WA.
The new owner did not fly it much because he felt it was too fast and eventually sold it to us. Used mainly for rural semi charity work mission the last few years. Now needing something else for the longer missions.
The plane had a new windscreen replaced, repainted and had an IFR avionic upgrade with multiple redundancies around 2 years prior. Built light with comfort Vans AC in mind. Cruises at TAS 165knots (some say the Dynon pitot location and angle cause a 7knots under read) at 45-48Lph ROP depending on the ALT. Climbs 2500ft/min with one POB and 2000 with 3 POB. Safely flown IFR to most states except had not been to NSW and TAS. Stable and comfortable cross country plane especially with the supplemental oxygen.
Great and really easy plane to fly. She had all the TLCs and upgrades she deserved; perfect cowling, perfect 3rd door latch made it easy to operate, cowling flap and cowling heat control. Always hangered. Has not had the paint cut and polish since repainted (can arranged if needed) but still top notch condition. Been well looked after by reputable LAMEs in SA.
An 100hourly annual completed in December 2023 with full inspection for all the recent SB's. She came out with full flying colour.
No laser parts were used on this built.
No expense spared for the maintenance and restoration.
Optional purchase of the uninstalled FlyEFII (fuel injection and electronic spark) and Control Approach Rudder Pedal
