For Sale: 1988 Glasair III Kit. Unique opportunity!!
This aircraft has a solid history, originally flying 800 hours before a nose gear failure on taxi grounded it. The aircraft was located in the US when this happened and was subsequently brought to Australia to be repaired. The repairs needed were minimal with only the Cowls, engine frame, propellor and engine needing repairs (no other damage was done). All these repairs have been completed and the aircraft is awaiting paint then needs reassembling. A lot of $ have been spent on the aircraft since it came to Australia but I just don't have the time or resources to finish it. The kit comes with everything needed to finish it. The kit was well built and I have a lot of the history of original owner and builder (can be supplied on enquiry)
Key features:
Updated windshield (speed modification)
updated gear legs
updated carbon gear legs doors (gear speed increased to 140-150kts)
New wheels
fueslage has been primed / sanded and is ready for paint (over 20k spent with a paint shop to get it to this stage)
plus much more TIO-540-AE2A
First life engine done 1200 hours
Log books had been lost by previous owner but he did have receipt of purchase and engine hasn't been used since then. I currently have the engine at HP engines getting a bulk strip but have put that on hold no I am selling the kit.
