For sale is a 1/8th share in the Young Flying Group syndicate that owns and operates a well maintained 180hp Cessna 172 and hangar at Young Aerodrome (YYNG) with recent engine overhaul.
The syndicate has been operating since 1987 and currently has eight members.
The aircraft is currently charged out at a rate of $220 per hour tacho which includes fuel, oil and maintenance.
Other than flying fees members pay an annual levy to cover fixed costs (e.g. insurance, hangar rates, ASIC fees, e-allocator fees).
Rather than keep our small but long-running syndicate a secret we thought we'd let other interested pilots know about this great little plane. Lycoming O-360-A4M (180hp)
In 1996 the aircraft was upgraded with the Penn Yan SA703GL STC (160hp to 180hp upgrade and gross weight increase).
Overhauled by Brisbane Aero Engineers in November 2024 the engine has 48 hours since overhaul. Garmin GNS-430W GPS, VHF, VOR and ILS

4 place intercom The interior is the original 1978 Cessna interior but it has been well maintained. Some plastics have recently been replaced. The exterior is mostly original and the plane has always been hangared. During the SIDs program the main landing gear springs and one belly skin were replaced and repainted. At this time the wing struts were also repainted.
There is some hail damage on the horizontal stabiliser. Offering a 464kg payload (full 200L fuel plus 320kg passengers and baggage), KMH cruises at 115 KIAS.
The aircraft has good availability and bookings are managed through Young Aerodrome is close to Cootamundra, Temora and Cowra and is less than a 2 hour drive from Canberra.
