About the Robinson Robinson R-22 Beta II

The Robinson R22 Beta II (1995–present) is the current production R22: a two-seat trainer with the larger Lycoming O-360-J2A engine derated for sea level, giving better hover performance at altitude and in heat than earlier R22s. A governor and carburetor-heat assist are standard. It is the world's benchmark primary helicopter trainer. Used Beta II prices typically run $150,000–$350,000 depending on year and hours remaining to the 2,200-hour / 12-year overhaul. Buy it if you want the newest R22 airframe and altitude capability; consider the Beta for the same mission at a lower used price.

Produced 1995.
