About the Socata TBM 700
The Socata TBM 700 (1990-2003 Socata production, transitional 2003-2006 EADS Socata era) is the founding aircraft of the modern single-engine turboprop owner-pilot segment. Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64 turbine with 700 shaft horsepower, pressurised cabin to FL310, ~300 kt cruise, six-seat cabin. The TBM 700 transformed the owner-pilot high-performance segment by delivering pressurised single-engine turboprop capability at acquisition costs that put it within reach of accomplished private pilots. Over 300 TBM 700s were produced over the Socata/early-EADS era. The 700 remains a capable cross-country single-engine turboprop today with proper engine program enrollment, mandate compliance and corrosion-free airframe.
