About the Piper Cherokee 140
The Piper Cherokee 140 (PA-28-140) is the original two/four-seat entry-level Cherokee, built from 1964 and powered by a 140-150 hp Lycoming O-320 on the classic constant-chord "Hershey bar" wing. Many were sold as two-seat trainers and later equipped for four, cruising around 110 knots. As one of the cheapest certified four-seaters on the market, the Cherokee 140 remains a popular first aircraft and time-builder, and the PA-28-140 specs are among the most searched in the whole Cherokee line.
Produced 1964–1977.
