Description

Innovation

The K2 Italia was developed by combining generous dimensions, great comfort & a refined design with the exceptional technical characteristics of the TK-250 turbine. All our projects are designed with great attention to detail & can be customized to fulfill the wishes of our customers according to the best tradition of the Italian taylor made philosophy.

The K2 Italia wants to raise safety standards. Konner researchers have developed the best active & passive safety systems and integrated them with the style, design & lightness of K2 Italia. The carbon fiber fuselage has been designed to ensure energy absorption in the event of a frontal or vertical impact.

Next Generation Aircraft

The Konner K2 Italia is more than just an aircraft; it’s a symbol of progress & innovation. The Konner helicopter models showcase a cutting-edge HFA system—Hybrid Flight Assistance. This pioneering system engages an additional electric engine in the event of an engine failure, presenting a paramount safety feature that eliminates the risk associated with the traditional “Dead Man’s Curve” for the pilot.

HFA – Hybrid Flight Assistance

The HFA system developed by Konner Helicopters allows the pilot, in the event of a loss of power from the turbine, to have a second source of energy… an electric motor to facilitate autorotation & consequently the landing of the helicopter.

+90 horsepower provided by the electric motor which allows you to keep the rotor revolutions under control to avoid a stall situation.

The HFA was specifically developed to interface with the K1-S19 and K2 Italia helicopters, the management of the electric motor is 100% autonomous thanks to the sophisticated control software. The pilot can activate/deactivate the system before takeoff.

The system has been tested numerous times to ensure it is 100% reliable, & so it has been, assisting the pilot every time during emergency clearance.

FADEC: Easy To Fly

The FADEC system allows you to easily manage the turning off & on of the turbine by moving the selector to the three designated positions: STOP – IDLE – FLY.

STOP: Turning off the turbine.

IDLE: Stabilization of the turbine making it ready for flight.

FLY: Increase in rotor speed, making the helicopter ready for take-off.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

The Konner K2 Italia is engineered to be a versatile & forward-thinking aircraft. It recognizes the importance of transitional solutions on the path to a fully sustainable aviation sector. SAF, often derived from renewable resources such as biofuels, presents an opportunity to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of air travel.

By integrating SAF into its operations, the K2 Italia demonstrates a dedication to sustainability. This approach ensures that it can adapt to various environmental & logistical conditions while prioritizing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Safety on Konner K2 Italia

K2 Italia wants to raise safety standards. Konner researchers have developed the best active & passive safety systems & integrated them with the style, design & lightness of K2 Italia. The carbon fiber fuselage has been designed to ensure energy absorption in the event of a frontal or vertical impact. The following options are available on K2 Italia:

+Impact-resistant seats for all occupants, which guarantee energy absorption in the event of a collision.

+4-point seat belts, with quick release system even in the event of a rollover.

+Flexible tank in self-sealing material & non-return valves to ensure fuel containment in the event of a collision or overturning.

+Hybrid Assistant System, the revolutionary active safety device.

Konner K2 Italia & TK 250 turbines

The heart of the K2 Italia was born from the “gas turbine engines” division, also adopted by the Konner K1 Italia. The TK-250 turbine, capable of guaranteeing 250 hp, whose exuberance is contained in just 50 kg of weight. The most advanced technologies blend inside the engine & a latest generation FADEC allows the pilot to exploit its characteristics in complete safety & tranquillity.

Konner, owner of the construction & design technology of the turboshaft engine, guarantees wide production availability, technical assistance, maintenance & global management of spare parts, the turbine is alignable to diesel. The TK-250 turboshaft engine: a concentration of technology, cutting-edge solutions, first-rate design software, professionalism, conviction & passion have allowed Konner Gas Turbine Division to develop the lightest turboshaft engine in the world in its category Rotor The K2 Italia main rotor is a 4-bladed semi-articulated system. The composite blades & bearing-free rotor allow for high efficiency in blade profile distribution, low dope forces on the main rotor head, high reliability & long fatigue life components. The main rotor head components & mast shaft are made of special aircraft alloys. The elastic elements on the bearing the main rotor head ensure perfect functioning of the articulating blade during flapping, feathering & pitching movements, while ensuring high reliability & reduced maintenance costs.
