Description
Very well-maintained and nicely upgraded American Champion 8KCAB Super Decathlon with approximately 1,654 hours total time airframe. Powered by a Lycoming AEIO-360-H1A aerobatic engine and equipped with updated Garmin ADS-B compliant avionics. This aircraft presents as a clean, honest, continuously maintained example with excellent logbook continuity and numerous notable maintenance items completed in recent years. Aircraft has benefited from consistent annual inspections, recurring brake and control system servicing, updated ELT compliance, recent transponder/static certifications, alternator replacement, tire service, brake hose replacement, and documented left wing fuel tank replacement. Garmin avionics upgrades include GTX335 ADS-B Out transponder, Garmin GTR225 comm radio, Garmin encoder, and updated antenna installations. Maintenance records reflect organized ownership with continuous annual inspection sign-offs and documented component servicing. Timberline Aircraft is currently preparing a detailed buyer maintenance synopsis including major maintenance chronology, installed equipment summary, component identification, and compression history for qualified buyers. Super Decathlon remains one of the most respected tandem tailwheel aerobatic platforms in the market, offering excellent utility for upset training, aerobatic instruction, backcountry grass strip fun, and economical recreational ownership. The AEIO-360 powered 8KCAB combines responsive handling, inverted fuel/oil capability, strong parts support, and broad market desirability. This aircraft represents an increasingly hard-to-find opportunity to acquire a sorted, Garmin-equipped, ADS-B compliant Super Decathlon with attractive maintenance pedigree and complete logbooks.
