1977 Rockwell Commander 114
Single Engine Piston
Aircraft Details
Seller reportedDescription
This is a beautiful aircraft that turns heads and has a loyal following of students and other users.
She has undergone a lot of work over the past 3 years during my ownership to bring her up to standard including, but not limited to:
Corrosion prevention
Aileron hinge replacement
Undercarriage maintenance
Whelen strobes and sync installation
Parametheus landing light upgrades
Rigging and flight control adjustments
Avionics upgrade with GI 275 and engine instrumentation ADAHRS (in antitipation of further upgrades)
She has a new prop (from 2023) and a bulk strip at that time due to a prop strike. The fuel pump was replaced at the same time as other items.
She is a very comfortable cruiser getting 50-55L LOP and TAS of 135-140 knots.
She is fully IR and NVFR capable and looks great on the ramp or in the air.
She is well maintained and had the last 100 hrly in Feb 2026 and has been flying regularly before and since then providing reliable service to local community flights.
I am exploring selling as she has served her purpose and I wish to move on to the next aircraft challenge.
She is in constant use and currently touring Australia via QLD East Coast, Simpson Desert via Mount Isa, South Australia and then on to Victoria and Tasmania. She will spend 4 weeks traveling this route so will potentially be near you if you would like to view her.
She would come with a fresh 100 hourly which will be due in early May following her trip around Australia. Take a look at Flight Radar to see her flying regularly.
There is excellent support from the Facebook group and the Commander Owners' Group Forum. I have had no problems with spares and there are quite a few others around so plenty of people can maintain her
You won't be disappointed by this beautiful, capable and comfortable cruiser, trainer and hours-builder. I hope the next owner gets to enjoy her as much as I have. GI 275 ADAHRS and EFIS
