IFRDescription
Originally owned by Kenmore employee after a ditching in 1972. Restored in 2010 to what it is today. Most of the fuselage skins were removed and replaced and zinc chromated. The Cutlass RG wings are internally epoxied. Cutlass RG doors with overcenter mechanisms and handles. Landing lights are in the nose and wingtips. The flaps have the trailing edge "speed bead" to allow heavy STOL work and more sudden deployment, The aircraft was built or almost new standards about 10 years ago with many airframe upgrades. The engine is a balanced Lycon overhaul at 180 HP but dynos out at closer to 200 HP. Logs are complete and every modification is legal and documented. The gross weight was not increased but the plane handles weight very easily. It is an excellent short field performer. This aircraft recieved a bronze Lindy Award at Oshkosh for being a customized classic in 2017. This aircraft is an 80% total rebuild and is the predecessor to the Bushliner overhaul program where equivalent to new 170/180/185's are built with new everything. It was appraised at $350,000 based on cost to build and equivalent types. Past history becomes irrelevant. Recently repaired from a minor ground loop and prop strike that did not affect the gear or cowling but did damage a wing tips, horizontal stabilizer, and cabin roof. Engine was torn down and propeller was replaced.
