Eagles Eleven are delighted to offer for sale Sir Torquil Norman's beautiful de Havilland DH84 Dragon 'G-ECAN'. Originally built in 1943 this aircraft, under serial number 2048 served in the Royal Australian Air Force as a navigational training aircraft, Currently based at Rendcombe Aerodrome England. G-ECAN is a regular participant at the Goodwood Revival also the timeless events at The Shuttleworth collection. She will be very much missed by her Chief Pilot "Henry Labouchere" Henry has many fascinating experiences to share with this beautiful aircraft, which has a permit to fly dated "August 2025". The DH.84 Dragon was one of the first commercial airliners, this Dragon was built during 1943 in Australia. The Dragon was originally designed in the early 1930s as a light commercial passenger aircraft capable of carrying up to ten people. It was prized for its reliability and load-carrying capacity. This DH.84, under construction number (C/n) 2048, was built by De Havilland in Australia during World War II. During its Military service G-ECAN served with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) under the registration A34-59. After the war, the aircraft was converted to civilian use and carried the registrations VH-AQU and later VH-DHX, spending some time with Marshall Airways collection at Bankstown Airport. The aircraft was imported into the UK in 2001 undergoing an extensive restoration, this rebuild was completed during 2003. currently flying on a permit to fly with current livery reflecting Railway Air Services, a British airline that operated in the 1940s.
