WHILE IN FLIGHT THE LEFT ENGINE RPM READING BECAME ERRATIC, GOING FROM NORMAL TO PAST RED LINE QUICKLY BACK AND FORTH. PIC PRECAUTIONARY SHUT DOWN ENGINE AND RETURNED TO HOME FIELD. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING IT WAS FOUND THE LEFT HAND TACH GENERATOR SENS...
THE MAGNETO IMPULSE COUPLER LOCKED UP AND BROKE THE GEARS INSIDE THE BACK OF THE ENGINE. THIS SHEARED THE DOWEL PIN IN THE BACK OF THE CRANKSHAFT CAUSING ENGINE STOPPAGE.
THE RH MLG UPPER SCISSOR LINK BROKE WHEN THE LDG PISTON EXTENDED AFTER ROTATION. A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE FRACTURE IT APPEARS THERE WAS INTERNAL CORROSION AT THE FRACTURE POINT.
IT WAS AN OLD ACTUATOR THAT GAVE OUT ON A HARDER LANDING THAN NORMAL.
RIGHT WING AFT WING WALK CRACKED. REPLACED WITH NEW ASSY.
R/H WING AFT WING WALK CRACKED. REPLACED WITH NEW ASSY

LH WING LWR I/B FWD SKIN, BOTTOM FWD STIFFENER CRACKED. REPLACED WITH NEW
LH WING TOP I/B FWD SKIN, FWD STIFFENER CRACKED. REPLACED WITH NEW
