About Tomark Aircraft Company
Tomark, based in Slovakia, manufactures the Viper SD-4 — a rugged, all-metal light sport aircraft designed for training and recreational flying. The Viper features a low-wing configuration, fixed tricycle gear, and Rotax 912 ULS or iS engine. It is popular with European flight schools due to its durable construction and low maintenance requirements.
Pre-owned Tomark Viper aircraft typically sell for $60,000-110,000. The all-metal construction provides excellent durability compared to composite or fabric alternatives. Cruise speed is approximately 115 knots with fuel consumption of 5 GPH. Buyers should verify the airworthiness category and confirm compliance with manufacturer service bulletins.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tomark
What is the Tomark Viper SD-4?
The Viper SD-4 is a Slovak-built all-metal low-wing two-seater designed for touring, training, and glider towing. CNC-machined aluminum construction ensures consistent quality. Powered by Rotax 912UL (81 HP) or 912ULS (100 HP), it cruises at 118 mph with a 57 mph stall speed. The aircraft received EASA restricted type certification in 2016 and is accepted as an LSA in the US.
How does the Tomark Viper SD-4 fly?
Pilots describe the Viper as very easy and safe to fly, with low maintenance and operating costs. The low-wing configuration gives it a sportier feel than high-wing trainers. Side-by-side seating under a single-piece framed canopy provides good visibility. Takeoff distance is 420 meters and landing distance 450 meters — not a STOL aircraft, but adequate for most paved strips.
What Tomark models are available?
Tomark offers several Viper SD-4 variants: the base LSA/UL for light sport and ultralight categories, the ATTACK version with enhanced capabilities, and the RTC variant with restricted type certificate for commercial operations like flight training. The company also produces the Skyper GT9 autogyro. All models are manufactured at the Tomark factory in Presov, Slovakia.
