About the Beechcraft Baron 55

The Beechcraft Baron 55 — the Beech 55 Baron, also listed as the BE55 or the B55 Baron — is the original, lighter member of the Baron twin line, built from 1961 to 1982. Seating four to five and cruising around 195 knots on two Continental engines, it covers the A55 through E55 variants and is the lowest-cost entry into Baron ownership. Listed as the Beech 95 B55 Baron, the Baron 55 pairs Bonanza-derived handling with twin-engine redundancy in a compact, well-supported airframe.

Produced 1961–1982. Total produced: 3,000.
