Auster J5g Skippy

Auster J5g - built 1953 and originally went to Australia and then returned to the UK where it was restored about 25 years ago. We bought Skippy in May 2023 after a valve had dropped and after a little false start the engine has now been properly sorted with one new head, new exhaust valves, one new head gasket fitted (full set made but not all required), all new hoses and she is flying wonderfully. The J5g is an autocrat with the 155hp Cirrus Major engine. Similar to the gypsy but a little more powerful. 4 seats and the useful load mean that it will take 4 adults with about 2 hours endurance. Not really a going places aircraft but fun to turn up at events in and draws attention everywhere you go. Largely original pane, only addition being an 8.33 radio.
