2014 Custom Built STOL CUB

If you are a STOL competitor, or if you simply want a very capable STOL aircraft for exploring the backcountry on your own, N859RK is a truly capable and unique aircraft. This aircraft is designed like a Super Cub, but like so many other Super Cub clones on the market, it has been greatly improved. N859RK was professionally built, and its engine was custom built by Lycon. The aircraft was purpose-built for STOL capability, and designed to be as light as possible and to contain all the attributes that a competitive STOL pilot would desire. Known as "Sasquatch", this Cub is powered by a Lycon IO-360-EXP, has custom, larger elevators and longer ailerons, and has Keller 10 foot fowler flaps (PSTOL-style). CG is lowered by storing fuel only in a belly pod. Stall speed is lower than a dial or glass screen will accurately indicate. If you have an interest in being truly competitive at Valdez, National STOL, STOL Drag, or similar competitions, this is a great setup for you. 330 hrs on airframe, engine and prop.
