Description

This turnkey 1977 Mooney M20J-201 is a clean, well-maintained Idaho-based aircraft that’s ready to fly and ready to travel. Always hangared in a dry climate with no damage history and complete logs since new, this J-model shows 3,205 total time and delivers the speed and efficiency Mooneys are known for—cruising 150–155 knots true while burning just over 8 GPH with up to 7–8 hours of endurance. Fresh annual and IFR certifications completed November 2025, making it a strong, dependable IFR platform for commuting or cross-country trips. Well equipped for modern flying, the panel features a Garmin 430W WAAS GPS/NAV/COM, King KX-155, dual glideslopes, and an S-TEC 30 autopilot with altitude hold, plus ADS-B Out via TailBeacon. The engine shows approximately 775 hours on the bottom end and 1,132 hours on the top end with strong compressions, clean oil trends, newer mags, and a Reiff preheat system. Speed mods, resealed tanks, newer battery, updated interior, LED lighting, and numerous practical upgrades round out a clean, efficient, and highly usable aircraft. Includes Robo-Tow electric tug with sale. A solid, honest M20J that’s ready to go this spring.

About the Mooney M20J

The Mooney M20 is the airframe behind every Mooney — a low-wing, retractable-gear piston single in production (with breaks) from 1955. Early carburetted models (M20A/B/C/D/E/F/G) used various Lycoming O-320 and O-360 engines, with the M20J (201) fuel-injected milestone marking the start of the modern Mooney. Later long-body M20M/R/S/TN/V models brought big-bore Continental IO-550 engines and the speed crown to the M20 lineage. All share Mooney's signature efficiency-per-horsepower characteristic, retractable trailing-beam gear and the famous backwards-trailing tail.
