The Redbird Flight Simulator LD, manufactured in Austin, Texas is FAA certified as an “Advanced Aviation Training Device” and comes equipped with all of the standard features of a Redbird SD, but without a cockpit enclosure and pilot seats (a seating platform can be ordered separately). The versatile Redbird LD is the perfect solution for flight schools and individual pilots that need the power of a Redbird simulator in their home or office. Features wrap-around visuals, realistic flight controls, and interchangeable cockpits. It’s a fantastic addition for the individual pilot dedicated to maintaining instrument currency and keeping skills sharp when they can’t be flying the real thing. In the past, simulators have been used almost exclusively for instrument instruction and a single screen was all you needed to show the runway when the student broke out at minimums. With a world-wide terrain database to support the 200° visuals, the LD allows you to experience the view from the cockpit before you ever leave the ground. Simulating VFR flights opens up a huge range of uses for the LD. This Redbird Simulator Model LD/cl (with Control Loading Yoke) is equipped with glass (acrylic) panel technology, is currently configured for a Cessna C206, but easily can be changed over to a Cessna C172/182, or a multiple of other make/model airplanes, including Cirrus (contact Redbird for details). Equipped with Garmin G1000 and GFC700, Single Pilot Rudder Pedals, and a Single Engine Complex Vernier (T-P-M) Throttle Assembly. Included with the simulator is training software called GIFT— a Bundle PPL/IR Courses, RealNav 4 subscription with quarterly updates, and Redbird CORVIS connecting ForeFlight.
