2018 Rand KR-2 EXPERIMENTAL

KR2 6500This modified 1995 PFA award winning aircraft is being sold as a return to flight project, which is 100% complete with some history and log books.It was last flown in 2007 and then placed in dry storage by the owner. The engine is a VW 1915cc unit with dual electronic ignition and has a new block fitted for its previous permit. Since then it has run for less than 6 hours, including re-commissioning ground runs. The total airframe hours are 316, and the engine is 219 hrs from new. The prop is a Chris Lodge 129 52"x45". Recently, some work has been carried out on the engine valves and seats, to improve the compression, and it now starts easily and runs well. Other recent work includes refurbishing the brakes. Work is in progress with the instrumentation. The aircraft was purchased by me, and work for the permit was in progress when it was stopped by two events. Firstly, I had a heart attack, followed by a triple bypass heart operation. Secondly, the airfield where the aircraft was hangared, closed, and the aircraft based there had to leave. The Rand was dismantled and put into its trailer for removal, and since I cannot now complete the work, it is offered for sale, together with the trailer, which will be required for its removal.
