1996 Velocity RG

Velocity RG (Retractable Gear) for sale. This is the original Velocity design with the clamshell door. The earlier models have slightly narrower wings with less drag than later versions, making them lighter and faster. The aircraft is powered by a Lycoming IO-360 paired with an electric variable-pitch propeller with Sterna blades, which are recommended by Velocity. The avionics panel was completely replaced and updated in 2020 and is fully IFR capable, including a Garmin G3X display, integrated GNX-375 GPS with ADS-B In/Out, audio panel with Bluetooth connectivity, and a backup Garmin G5. The panel also includes night lighting, an 8-hour backup power battery, multiple USB-C and USB-A power outlets, and an integrated iPad mount. This is a low-hour composite aircraft that is both very efficient and fast, typically cruising between 160-165 knots true airspeed on approximately 8 gallons per hour at 8,000-11,000 feet depending on weight. At lower altitudes the airplane prefers to fly faster, typically around 150 knots true for optimal maneuverability. This Velocity makes an outstanding cross-country aircraft capable of comfortably carrying four people while maintaining excellent speed and fuel efficiency.
