Description
Medical issue forces sale of this well maintained and upgraded 1965 Comanche 260B. Maintenance in 2022 include: Install Piper Kit P/N PN760-791 to replace Bendix boost pump with Dukes pump, P/N4140-00-218. Replaced 3 Boost pump fuel lines, 3 oil cooler lines and fuel lines. Installed new engine mounts, and new hardware. R R alternator with O/H unit. Overhauled Fuel Injection servo and flow divider. Replaced engine driven fuel pump with new Tempest P/N15473. Removed and overhauled both Bendix magnetos. Removed ignition harness and had it high voltage tested. Installed harness with anti-abraision material. Replaced all spark plugs with new Tempest URHM38E Plugs. Replaced damaged L/H engine muffler. Removed all six engine rocker covers, striped and painted and re-installed with new re-useable gaskets. Removed and replaced both brake rotors and brake pucks. In 2023 removed vacuum pump and associated system, removed ICOM 200 radio and installed a King KX165 Nav/com. Installed second Garmin G-5 HSI, and Landing Height system. removed PCU5000 prop governor for IRAN. Replaced all aircraft carpet with new lightweight Airtex carpet and rewebbed all four lapbelts and re-installed them with new fasteners. Installed Knots2U Wing Filet Kit, wing root fairing kit and Whelen slipper fairing kit. In 2024, removed propeller for IRAN. Inspected,Resealed,Balanced replaced 3 B6680 bearings and painted. replaced alternator dirve belt. In 2025 installed Flightstream 210, Artex 345 Battery, IFR Cert. Sheepskin cover crew seats New AGM Concord RG-35A Battery installed. New external Brake hoses installed. Annual inspection completed 2/23/2026. New Landing gear bungees installed and autopilot pitch servo was overhauled.
Engine
The engine had a full prop strike Inspection and repairs were done at Poplar Grove Airmotive when the engine had 679.9 hours SMOH. Engine time since Prop strike IRAN in 2007 is 1106 hrs. GAMI injectors installed in 2022. I worked with GAMI to dial in the lean differencs and have it at about .2gph. This is the best starting, smoothest running, piston engine I've ever flown.
Interior
Interior originally installed in 2007. Grey cloth with Burgandy trim. Back seats are in excellent condition. Front seats now have matching gray Sheepskin covers. Pilot seat uncovered is in great shape. Passenger seat was just starting to get a wear spot on the upper outboart corner of the seat back. Carpet is like new. Plastic panels have some sun heat warpage, but overall in good shape.
