Daher TBM 960 Safety Record — FADEC + Autoland
Editorial safety summary — see Daher TBM 960 listings and consult a qualified A&P/inspector for individual aircraft decisions.
The Daher TBM 960 carries forward the TBM 940's safety equipment (HomeSafe Autoland, E-copilot, Garmin G3000 NXi) and adds the safety benefits of full FADEC engine control — the PT6E-66XT replaces the 940's PT6A-66D hydromechanical fuel control with full electronic engine management. FADEC reduces engine mis-management risk (hot starts, over-temp events, incorrect power settings), improves engine reliability through automatic protection systems, and reduces pilot workload during high-stress scenarios. The 960 represents the most comprehensive safety equipment available in any single-engine turboprop currently in production.
