About the Piper Tomahawk
The Piper Tomahawk (PA-38-112) is an economical two-seat T-tail trainer built from 1978 to 1982 to compete with the Cessna 152. Designed with input from flight instructors, it offers a roomy side-by-side cabin, good visibility and a low-wing layout that gives a more "real airplane" feel than typical trainers. Its honest stall and spin behavior earned the nickname "Traumahawk," which made it a favorite for serious spin and stall instruction, and its low purchase and running costs keep it popular with budget owners and flight schools.
