About the Robinson R44

The Robinson R44 is the world's best-selling 4 seater helicopter — a four-seat (four-seater), single-engine piston aircraft and the most popular civil helicopter of the modern era, with more than 6,000 built. Introduced as the Astro in 1993, it evolved through the hydraulically controlled Raven I (carbureted 225 hp), the fuel-injected Raven II (245 hp), the float-equipped Clipper I and Clipper II, and the two-seat Cadet trainer. All variants share the same basic two-blade rotor airframe and a 2,200-hour / 12-year overhaul cycle (2,400 hours for the Cadet), making the R44 a global benchmark for private ownership, training and light utility work. Used prices range from around $50,000 for an older Astro to over $700,000 for a low-time Raven II.

Produced 1993. Total produced: 6,500.
