About the Pilatus Pilatus PC-12/45
The Pilatus PC-12 is the best-selling pressurized single-engine turboprop in history — over 2,000 delivered since 1994. Powered by a single Pratt and Whitney PT6A-67P engine (1,200 SHP), the PC-12 NGX carries up to nine passengers at 290 KTAS with a 1,803 nm range and lands in 2,602 feet. What makes the PC-12 exceptional is its combination of jet-like cabin comfort (330 cubic feet, 4 feet 10 inches stand-up height), short-field performance, and the ability to operate from unpaved strips via its rugged trailing-link gear. The large 52 by 52 inch cargo door on the left side transforms it from executive transport to freight hauler in minutes.
The PC-12 competes with the Beechcraft King Air C90 (twin engine but smaller cabin) and the Daher TBM 960 (faster but smaller cabin). The PC-12 wins on cabin size, versatility, and operating costs ($800-$1,000/hr versus $1,200/hr for a King Air).
Buying advice. PT6A-67P engine condition is the primary value driver. Verify hot section inspection status and compliance with Pilatus mandatory Service Bulletins. The PC-12 retains value better than almost any turbine aircraft — 10-year residual values consistently exceed 70%. Early PC-12/45 models (1994-2005): $1.5M-$3M. PC-12/47E: $3M-$5.5M. PC-12 NGX: $5M-$7M. A Pilatus PC-12 for sale is the ultimate single-engine turboprop — nothing else combines this cabin, performance, and versatility.
